What do we do to get California going at the church level?

Leadership	Get informed (or have someone be informed for you (see next point) Thank God for Governor Newsom ;-) Create a position (voluntary or paid) within the church, where a staff member is responsible for keeping abreast of the political issues of the day Utilize your army of congregants for the most important issues that come up (or even have an ongoing political activism page/email/phone list/etc -- this is called being salt to the world, and an important responsibility and duty of being an American citizen) Set up a weekly plan Prayer guide - all government officials Have church members call Newsom (916-445-2841) once a week Call county Board of Supervisors once a week
Congregation	Be involved in your community - HOA, city council, PTA, assembly, congress, etc If your church sends out points to call/email congress about -- DO IT! Be discerning in your media intake; that is, don't support or waste your time with most media, don't believe everything you hear, but filter it through 1. the Word of God 2. the lens of reality 3. a Biblical worldview. Even if your church is not politically informed, be so yourself, and be actively participating in the democratic process

Talking points to pastors:	Romans 13: Obeying the government means not blind obedience to the arbitrary dictates of a governor, but 1. Supporting and defending the Constitution 2. Staying informed of the issues affecting your community 3. Participating in the democratic process 4. Defending the country should the need arise, 5. among other things Loving your neighbor is not just about protecting the small percentage of people who may get sick from Covid, but also the large percentage of people who are getting harmed in physical, emotional, economic, psycological, and social ways by the continued lockdown and government overreach.
